Altus Reservoir is a beautiful spot for fishing and boating, just 1 block from our resort. Enjoy a day of outdoor fun surrounded by scenic views, great walking paths, fishing, and kayaking.  The Reservoir has a sandy beach area as well as a playground for the kids and a dog park for our furry friends!

Immerse yourself in nature at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, where you can hike and view wildlife up close. The refuge is just a short drive from Altus RV Resort LLC.  Fishing, Kayaking, and hiking are just some of the activities available.  Take a drive-up Mt. Scott and get a breath-taking view of Southwest Oklahoma.  It’s one of the best experiences around!

Just a short 21 minute drive North of Altus and you arrive at Quarts Mountian State Park.  Lake Lugart is the center attraction nestled in the beautiful Quarts Mountains of Southwestern Oklahoma.  Activities include fishing, boating, hiking, picknicing, and bird watching.  For a special evening out, try the Lookout Kitchen featuring local dishes as specialities.  There are seasonal ATV trails and bouldering avaiable. for more info

Just a 35-minute drive east you will find great Plains State Park.  The main attraction is Tom Steed Reservoir, one of the best fishing and recreational lakes in Southwest Oklahoma.  Nestled in the shadows of the Wichita Mountains, you will find great hiking and bike trails which, due to the rugged terrain, will challenge the most experienced bikers and hikers alike.  Beautiful Scenery abounds as does the local wildlife, including Western Diamondback rattle snakes!  Historical areas include a gold mine and Fort Raminiski, which was one of the western most outposts for the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill.  History abounds in the area!
